Tiffany Pendant Lights

If I were to add another piece of furniture to my home, it would definitely be a set of Tiffany pendant lights. The room would have an instant glow with the burst of its vibrant colors. It was during the late 1800’s that this stylish lamp was first constructed. All of them were handcrafted. Louis Comfort Tiffany is the man behind Tiffany. His first company offered interior designing which specialized on stained glass.

I have various sets of glass pendant lighting installed in my home. Two Tiffany pendants are currently installed above my bar. It instantly gave the room a tinge of elegance and an added appeal.

There are actually quite a number of styles that you can choose from. Animals and flowers are typically incorporated. Others may look simple but their colors truly stand out. It’s through their simplicity that makes them beautiful. The best thing is that if you don’t want to splurge on crystal pendant lights or other styles, you can make your own Tiffany Style lamps. In this way, you can design the lamp according to your preference. Just make sure you have all the materials ready like the copper foil, solder, cardboard and glass. It’s better if you have colored glass.

Copper foil method is the common procedure done when creating Tiffany pendant lights. Here are the steps on how to make a replica:

1. Using a thick and heavy piece of cardboard, sketch the pattern or design of the Tiffany light.
2. Mark it and then trace it with a glass placed over the cardboard.
3. Once the pattern is completed, begin cutting the glass to the match the shape.
4. Clean the glass and cover the edges with copper foil. The pieces will stick together with the help of the copper.
5. When the lamp is completely altogether, use the solder to hold the edges closely.
